Sydney Copas is a graduate student intern at Seed of Hope Counseling Center and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Milligan University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. Sydney has had the opportunity to work with individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including Woodridge Psychiatric Hospital and the Milligan University Counseling Center.
Sydney is passionate about helping individuals navigate anxiety, develop a healthy self-image, understand family dynamics, and work through life transitions. She is especially passionate about exploring the impact of childhood trauma and the ways our past experiences can shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. Sydney values authenticity, growth, and connection within the therapeutic relationship and strives to create a space where clients feel free to be honest about their experiences.
Sydney believes that every person has a story worth listening to. She considers it a privilege to hear and understand each client’s unique story and hopes to walk alongside them as they navigate where they have been, where they are now, and where they hope to go.
Psalm 23:1–3 captures this beautifully: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters; He restores my soul” (NKJV). Sydney’s own healing journey has given her a deeper appreciation for the importance of having someone willing to listen, understand, and walk alongside us through difficult seasons.
