Kristen Branch-McGlamery, LPC/MHSP, is a two-time graduate of Milligan University, holding both a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Over the past three years, she has dedicated her career to working with children and adolescents, starting from age 5. Kristen has developed expertise in supporting clients dealing with anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, trauma, ADHD, and other challenges in both outpatient and school-based settings.
She has training experience in evidence-based interventions, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the RUBI Autism Network Parent Training for Disruptive Behavior. Kristen takes a client-centered approach to therapy, prioritizing the therapeutic relationship as a key component of the healing process. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, while also incorporating creative interventions like art, literature, and tabletop role-playing. Additionally, Kristen enjoys using play therapy to engage her clients in meaningful and healing ways.
Kristen firmly believes that everyone can benefit from having a safe space to speak about life and the issues that arise, regardless of age! With therapy looking different for every client, she does her best to make therapeutic experience engaging and creative. Adults are not the only ones who experience anxiety, depression, anger, and so many other problems that can impact mental health. Children deserve to have a place where they can learn about and develop coping skills as well as ways to process thoughts, feelings, and experiences. They deserve to have a safe space where they can feel seen, understood, and validated.
