Kristy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation. She acquired her Master’s in counseling psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Orlando, Florida, but Tennessee is her home state.
Working with adult individuals, couples, and groups, Kristy is passionate about helping others find their full potential. Kristy believes that many times, we struggle with internal and external conflicts from the pain we’ve suffered in life. Gaining a different perspective and learning to regulate our emotions around those conflicts provides us with a “reframe” that helps us heal and move forward.
Whether it's stress, anxiety, life transitions, relational difficulties, divorce, trauma, loss, insecurity, or co-dependency, with warmth and encouragement, Kristy allows clients to “be where they are” as they journey toward hope and healing. Kristy loves to integrate several therapy styles and creative elements into sessions. When appropriate, Kristy can utilize “Walk and Talk” therapy.
As a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and someone who has walked her own healing journey, Kristy feels inspired by this scripture: He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others with the comfort we ourselves have received from God (2 Cor. 1:4).
Additionally, Kristy has a “co-therapist” named “Nilla,” who is an animal-assisted therapy dog. Animal-assisted therapy has proven benefits based on modern scientific research, which include mental health, physical health, and skill improvement; plus, she’s super cute and fluffy!
